The trip in 2010 is 11 nights and has been broken into 3 separate areas in close proximity of each other allowing you the chance to ride the famous climbs you have seen on TV, with minimal driving transfers between areas.

Famous mountains like Alpe d'Huez, Col du Aravis, Col du Galibier and the Col de la Colombiere are all within striking distance of our hotels.

Some of the intensity has been removed from this tour with a mixture of classic alpine climbs and less intense easier ride options.

The tour includes riding through the Vercors national park near Grenoble. The riding here is surprisingly easy on the legs with no major climbs on the itinerary, just stunning views, amazing gorges and beautiful villages.

The next leg is based in La Grave situated below the Col du Galibier and in close proximity of the most famous of all mountains, Alpe d'Huez! The last leg visits the Aravis Mountain range just 28km from Lake Annecy giving you direct access to some classic Alps climbs and more breathtaking views.

Ride the legendary roads and passes of the French Alps with Kiwi Style Bike Tours in 2010!

The trip is split up into the following:

Villard de Lans. (Near Grenoble)
La Grave
Saint Jean de Sixt. (Near Lake Annecy)

We also cater for non-cycling partners. Please contact us directly regarding non-cycling activities available for this tour. There is also a small price reduction for a non-cyclist.

Highlights:

  • The breathtaking views around the Vercors national park.
  • The ride from the hotel in St Jean de Sixt to Lake Geneva.
  • Conquer the mighty Alpe d'Huez!
  • The Aravis Mountain Range.
  • Dining outside the hotel in La Grave below the Meije Glacier.
  • Supporting the Kiwis in the worlds greatest race!

Intensity rating:

Historically this has been one of the hardest tours we have and involves some intense mountain rides.

For 2010 we have reformatted this tour to take some of the sting out of the rides. The riding around Villard de Lans is fairly moderate and we have added an easier ride option on one of the days around Saint Jean de Sixt.

All of our tours have one rest day included in the itinerary.

While you don't need to be a racer you will need to have a reasonable standard of fitness to enjoy this tour.

We take a maximum of 14 persons on this tour.
