This tour is the backbone of Kiwi Style Bike Tours - remaining the most popular European Tour for ticking off some of the most legendary climbs of French and Italian cycling folklore. We start with the French Alps and work our way through Italy via Lake Como, the Italian Alps and the Dolomites, taking in Epic rides, Epic scenery and Epic climbs along the way.
The Epic France Italy Tour starts with three nights in the Lake Annecy area, where the introduction to the French Alps climbing begins. we tick off the Col du Colombiere, Col d’Arpettaz and ride around Lake Annecy. Then we head into the heart of the French Alps with a transfer ride over the Col du Telegraphe and Col de Galibier at 2645m above sea level. With a two night stay on Alpe d'Huez, we tick this most mythical of all Tour de France climbs and its surrounding balcony roads. From here we head into Italy and straight into the Italian lifestyle with two nights on Lake Como. After the enjoying the stunning riding and views around Lake Como we head into the high mountains of the Italian Alps, staying three nights in Bormio. While in Bormio we ride the legendary Passo di Gavia and the famous 48 switchbacks of the Passo Dello Stelvio, which is the highest point of this tour at 2758m altitude. The final stay in the Epic France Italy is four nights at Cortina in the Dolomites. From Cortina we ride the spectacular Sella Ronda - Passo Campolongo, Passo Gardena, Passo Sella and Passo Pordoi which offers one of the most dramatic backdrops you could ever cycle through.

The riding is rated hard to intense with numerous alpine climbs. While you don't need to be a racer you will need to have a very good standard of fitness to enjoy this tour.
