Thanks for a fantastic experience. Everything was well organised and relaxed. Our rides were great, and the TDU atmosphere exciting. It was so cool to ride back from stage finishes with pros like George Hincappie! As you can see I am a happy camper! The tour was an excellent experience and I can’t think of any improvements you could make. I’ve spread the good word amongst my “bike boys” cycling group, I’ll be surprised if there isn’t some more of them on future tours.Mike Dent

A great week of racing and bike riding, I can’t imagine how it could be any better.

Kevin

In January every year the worlds cycling elite head to Adelaide in South Australia to compete in the 6-day long Tour Down Under.

The top European teams use this race to begin their intense racing and training phase for the European summer season. The Tour down under is the only UCI Pro Tour bike race in the southern Hemisphere, giving you the chance to see your favorite pro teams racing and possibly even ride with them.

This Tour offers unprecedented access to the racers at the start-finish areas and at the Tour Down Under Village set in down town Adelaide. In 2008 and 2009 our customers and guides had the chance to met Greg Henderson, Tim Gudsell, Tour de France star Robbie McEwen, Paul Sherwin, and 5 times Tour de France champion Miguel Indurain. Some of our clients were also lucky enough to ride with Team CSC, George Hincapie, Team Lampre and a host of other superstars.

In Adelaide you can ride, sip coffee and rub shoulders with the stars of world cycling. The stages are set around Adelaide and the famous wine areas of this region, mixing the culture of wine with the culture of cycling.

Lance Armstrong used this race in 2009 to start his come back and has said he intends to ride again in 2010!

The Legends night dinner in 2009 was HUGE with Lance Armstrong as the guest speaker along with George Hincapie, Paul Sherwan and Phil Liggett. No doubt another star will be centre stage in 2010.

The stages you will see with us in 2010 are:

  • Stage 1 Clare to Tanunda.
  • Stage 2 Gawler to Hahndorf.
  • Stage 4 Norwood to Goolwa.
  • Stage 5 Snapper Point to Willunga.
  • Stage 6 Adelaide CBD, Elder Park.

Also on the itinerary is race action at the Tour Down Under Classic 50km street race on Sunday evening the 17 January 2010.

The Mutual Community Challenge Tour is also back for 2010. This is a festival style ride open to the public and attracts thousands of riders. It follows the exact route the pros will race along during stage 4 later in the day.

The 2010 version is 160km! There is also a shorter 111km option available. Book before the 31 July and pay the 2009 price of AUS$130.00.

Fully guided rides will be available each day (except the rest day) taking you past golden beaches and local vineyards.

All rides will be a minimum of 2 hours with the average ride being 3 hours.
